Visit the National Zoo 6/30 (In-person)

Explore the wonders of wildlife with OSG at the National Zoo!

Registration: Entering the National Zoo is free, but reserving an entrance pass is required. You can get your entry pass for the zoo online here. Please also RSVP with OSG below so know to expect you!

Meetup: OSG staff will be leading two separate groups to and from the National Zoo.

GROUP 1: Our first group will meet at the Innovation Station in Herndon no later than 9:30am. We cannot wait for latecomers! Together, we will take the silver and red metro lines to the Cleveland Park metro station, and then walk to the National Zoo.

GROUP 2: Our second group will meet at Queens Court in Arlington no later than 10am. We cannot wait for latecomers! Together, we will take the orange/blue/silver and red metro lines from the Rosslyn metro station to the Cleveland Park metro station, and then walk to the National Zoo. We cannot wait for latecomers!

**If you are going to meet us directly at the National Zoo, then plan to arrive by 11am. We will meet near the Visitor Center, which is by the Connecticut Avenue entrance of the Zoo. You can view the Zoo map here.**

Parking: You can purchase a parking pass for the Zoo for $30, but we recommend using Uber/Lyft or the metro. Please note that parking passes tend to sell out quickly!

To prepare: Please review the following information carefully!

-Attire: Everyone is encouraged to wear comfortable shoes since we’ll be walking mostly outdoors.

-Food/drink: We highly recommend bringing a water bottle, as well as a snack. Please bring a form of payment if you’d like to purchase something to eat or drink from the Zoo.

-Public transport: If you’re taking the metro, remember to bring your SmarTrip Card, or your Metro Access Card and a government id. Alternatively, you can bring cash/debit/credit card and purchase a roundtrip pass.

Contact: We will communicate changes of plans via Whatsapp, so please join the OSG Events Whatsapp group to receive important event updates.

Weather Cancellation: In case of unsafe weather conditions, an announcement will be made on Whatsapp at least 2 hours prior to the start of the outdoor event.

Accommodations: At OSG, our staff are not direct service providers, so we ask that each participant attending an event brings any personal support they may need for their well-being and engagement. This may include, but is not limited to, caregivers, communication partners, or mobility aids. That said, with prior notice, we can arrange group-wide accommodations during event planning. These might include ensuring wheelchair-accessible routes or selecting allergen-safe menus. Additional accommodations are available upon request, though they may not be listed here.
