Come create art in community at the Ovation each Saturday! This is the first session of 2024, so it’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors and get crafty each week. The group will be led by Garine, our art therapist intern from GW. All ages are welcome! This week, we will be painting landscapes with watercolors.

To prepare: It is advised that you wear clothes you wouldn’t mind possibly getting stained.

Meet up: Please meet in the first floor club room at the Ovation at Arrowbrook. A key is needed to enter the building, so please message the Herndon Community Whatsapp group upon arrival if you’re not an Ovation resident, so you can be let in.

Twice a month, OSG is hosting a Waypoint Wednesday at…you guessed it…the Waypoint! For this week, join us to play board games and video games in the community room!

To prepare: You don’t have to bring anything in order to participate, but, you’re welcome to bring your own games. Any video games compatible with the Nintendo Switch are especially encouraged.

Meet up: This event will be taking place in the community room on the first floor of the Waypoint. When you arrive, please message the Waypoint Community Whatsapp group to request access to the locked building.

Come check out adapted roller skating at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center (TJ)! This event will also feature a bounce house and a DJ for your enjoyment. We hope to see everyone there!

Registration: There is a $5 entrance fee per person, which must be paid in advance HERE. Please also RSVP with OSG so we know to expect you.

To prepare: Roller skates will be provided to everyone, and skate walkers are also available for those who need a little more assistance on the rink. You may consider wearing a helmet for safety, but it is not required.

Our OSG Alexandria community is getting together each month to enjoy dinner together. Each month, we’ll choose a restaurant near one of our Alexandria properties. This month, we’re going to El Rancho Latin Grill.

Join OSG on a field trip to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center and explore the air and space exhibit in Chantilly!

Registration: Admission to the museum is free and no tickets are required. You only need to RSVP with OSG so we know to expect you.

To prepare: Please bring a water bottle with you, but no other outside food or drink will be allowed. You should also bring a form of payment (debit or credit card) if you want to purchase any food or drink items from the museum.

Meet up: We will meet at the museum entrance by 11:30am. If you arrive late, please message the OSG Events Whatsapp group to determine where we currently are.

Transportation: You are responsible for planning your transportation to the museum. If you’d like to take the bus from the Ovation at Arrowbrook with OSG’s Community Builder, Anna, please meet at the Ovation entrance at 10:45am. Anna will take the Fairfax Connector 938 bus, which should be about a 25-minute trip, including the walk to the bus stop. Those riding the bus can expect to return to the Ovation around 4pm. Be sure to bring your government ID and one of the following: SmarTrip Card, Metro Access Card, or cash.

Parking: For those driving directly to the museum, parking will cost $15.
