Our Queens Court community is heading out for an exciting day at the National Zoo in D.C.!
Registration: Entering the National Zoo is free, but reserving an entrance pass is required. You can get your entry pass for the zoo online here. Please also RSVP with OSG below so know to expect you.
Meetup: Our walking group will head out from Queens Court at 9am and take the orange and red metro lines together from the Rosslyn metro station to the Smithsonian metro station near the museum. If you are going to meet us directly at the museum, then plan to arrive by 10am. We will meet near the Visitor Center, which is by the Connecticut Avenue entrance of the Zoo. You can view the Zoo map here.
Parking: You can purchase a parking pass for the Zoo for $30, but we recommend using Uber/Lyft or the metro.
To prepare: Please review the following information carefully!
Attire: Everyone is encouraged to wear comfortable shoes since we’ll be walking mostly outdoors.
Food/drink: We highly recommend bringing a water bottle, as well as a snack. Please bring a form of payment if you’d like to purchase something to eat or drink from the Zoo.
Public transport: If you’re taking the metro, remember to bring your SmarTrip Card, or your Metro Access Card and a government id. Alternatively, you can bring cash/debit/credit card and purchase a roundtrip pass.
Contact: Please direct questions about this event to the Queens Court Whatsapp group. This is where we will communicate important event updates and also stay in touch while at the Zoo.
Weather Cancellation: In case of unsafe weather conditions, an announcement will be made on Whatsapp at least 2 hours prior to the start of the outdoor event.
