Valentine’s dinner and a show

Whether you’re lovers, friends or family members, be prepared to indulge in a delicious four-course meal prepared by Chef Danilo Orofino, owner of Orofino in Fredericksburg, VA. In addition to the partially prepared dinners, each meal will feature three hand-selected bottles of Northern Italian wines provided by our friends at Impero Wine Distributors, and brought to life by our Sicilian-based sommelier. As a special treat, we’ll enjoy the beautiful voices of professional opera singers Jack and Katherine Swanson. 

All proceeds will help Our Stomping Ground continue to provide essential programming for our adults.

    • Stuffed pasta w/ pear and Ricotta cheese served in a creamy Gorgonzola dolce sauce and toasted walnuts
  • Secondi – Brasato piemontese
    • Braised beef short ribs cooked in Barolo wine and rosemary, served over truffle risotto
  • Dolce – Profiteroles al cioccolato
    • Cream puffs surrounded by vanilla and chocolate cream
• For the vegetarians:
  • Antipasti – Caprese salad 
    • Confit of Sicilian heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, EVOO, and balsamic glaze
    • Primi – Sacchetti Pera e Noci
      • Stuffed pasta w/ pear and Ricotta cheese served in a creamy Gorgonzola dolce sauce and toasted walnuts
  • Secondi – Melanzane alla parmigiana
    • Lightly breaded eggplant, deep fried and layered with tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese and basil
  • Dolce – Profiteroles al cioccolato
    • Cream puffs surrounded by vanilla and chocolate cream

About Our Partners:

Chef Danilo Orofino, owner of Orofino restaurant in Fredericksburg, VA, studied culinary arts in his native Sicily where he opened his first restaurant at the age of 18 and went on to become a chef at Eataly in Manhattan, New York. He’s passionate about great food, Italian culture, and creating unique dining experiences.

Roberto D’Onofrio owns Impero Wine Distributors based out of Lorton, VA. Impero specializes in Italian wines and graciously supported our highly successful December wine tasting event.

Spouses Katherine Henly and Jack Swanson are both renowned opera singers. Soprano Katherine has been praised for her captivating and affecting portrayals in genres ranging from opera, to musical theater, jazz, and pop throughout the United States and abroad. Jack is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after young tenors in the opera world. His distinctive high lyric voice is known for singing the acrobatic arias of Rossini and the legato melodies of Donizetti.
