Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

Harry Potter in the Park

Meet with John and City Center NOVA residents and friends every Tuesday, weather permitting, from 4-5 pm for a shared reading of Harry Potter, book one.

OSG Book Club

Utopia Avenue is the story of a crazy British band that emerged during London’s psychedelic scene in 1967. Throughout the book, master storyteller Mitchell explores rebellion, family, and the search for stardom. Each time the OSG Book Club meets, high school senior John Fontham will read a chapter to the group, followed by an open discussion over Zoom. Gilliam Place Environmental Club

OSG friends and Gilliam Place apartment neighbors get together to learn about the environment and how we can better the planet. This week special guests will include Fleet Elementary School Teacher, Susan Spranger and Elenor Hodges from EcoAction Arlington. Our conversation will be around the conservation of water.

Social Justice Club

Join students Ella Knight and Nana Adwoa Osei-Bonsu to discuss Ibram X. Kendi's acclaimed book, Stamped from the Beginning. This is a National Book Award-winning history of how racist ideas were created, spread, and deeply rooted in American society. Reading assignments will be given each week.
