Events Calendar

Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

Drumming Circle

Join OSG in a musical event where we’ll play drums and create rhythm together. Participants will get a chance to express themselves by playing a multitude of percussive instruments, while also creating a communal sound. Drum circles are known to relieve stress, create community, and… it's just fun to hit a drum!  This is an informal gathering and the music is entirely improvised through group listening and interaction. Join students Ella Knight and Nana Adwoa Osei-Bonsu to discuss Ibram X. Kendi's acclaimed book, Stamped from the Beginning. This is a National Book Award-winning history of how racist ideas were created, spread, and deeply rooted in American society. Reading assignments will be given each week. Healthy Hangout with Social Grace

Come on out for our Monthly Healthy Hangout at Lubber Run Park for some fresh air and good company! Make sure to bring a mask and comfortable shoes while we walk and talk throughout the park and local neighborhood. This is a great opportunity to get outside and connect with your community!
