Events Calendar

Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

Embark on a literary adventure with OSG friends from Gilliam Place as we visit the Columbia Pike Library! We can read, check out library books, and also sign up for a library card.

To prepare: Please dress warmly for the weather and bring your library card if you have one already.

Meet up: We’ll meet in the lobby of Gilliam Place at 2pm before walking to the Columbia Pike Library together.

Contact: We will communicate changes of plans via Whatsapp, so please join the Gilliam Place Whatsapp group to receive important event updates.

Weather Cancellation: In case of unsafe weather conditions, an announcement will be made on Whatsapp at least 2 hours prior to the start of the outdoor event.

Accomodations: At OSG, our staff are not direct service providers, so we ask that each participant attending an event brings any personal support they may need for their well-being and engagement. This may include, but is not limited to, caregivers, communication partners, or mobility aids. That said, with prior notice, we can arrange group-wide accommodations during event planning. These might include ensuring wheelchair-accessible routes or selecting allergen-safe menus. Additional accommodations are available upon request, though they may not be listed here. To discuss your specific needs and help us make our events more inclusive, please contact us at claudet@ourstompingground.org with the subject line “Accomodation Request.”

*Note: Sign-up is mandatory. Be sure to RSVP so we know to expect you.
