Our Queens Court community is visiting the National Building Museum to explore how the spaces we live in, work in, and play in are created!
Registration: You MUST purchase an entrance ticket costing $10 either from the museum website in advance OR in-person at the museum when you arrive for the OSG event. The link for online ticket purchase can be found HERE.
Meetup: Our walking group will head out from Queens Court at 10am and take the Blue and Red metro lines together from the Rosslyn metro station to the Judiciary Square metro station near the museum. If you are going to meet us directly at the museum, then plan to arrive by 11am. Please note that public parking is limited in downtown DC, so using public transport or ride share is advised.
To prepare: Please review the following information carefully.
-Attire: Everyone is encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
-Museum entrance: Entering this museum costs $10. You can either purchase a ticket online or at the museum in-person.
-Public transport: If you’re taking the metro, please remember to bring your SmarTrip Card, or your Metro Access Card and a government id. Alternatively, you can bring cash/debit/credit card and purchase a roundtrip pass.
-Food/drink: You may want to bring a water bottle and a snack in a closed container.
Weather Cancellation: In case of unsafe weather conditions, an announcement will be made on Whatsapp at least 2 hours prior to the start of the outdoor event.
Contact: We will communicate changes of plans via Whatsapp, so please join the Queens Court Whatsapp group to receive important event updates.
Accommodations: At OSG, our staff are not direct service providers, so we ask that each participant attending an event brings any personal support they may need for their well-being and engagement. This may include, but is not limited to, caregivers, communication partners, or mobility aids. That said, with prior notice, we can arrange group-wide accommodations during event planning. These might include ensuring wheelchair-accessible routes or selecting allergen-safe menus. Additional accommodations are available upon request, though they may not be listed here. To discuss your specific needs and help us make our events more inclusive, please contact us at claudet@ourstompingground.org with the subject line “Accommodation Request.”
*Note: Sign-up is mandatory. Be sure to RSVP so we know to expect you.
