Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

Get ready to make a splash at the Water Mines Family Swimmin’ Hole! Today, OSG will be attending sensory friendly hours to enjoy the waterpark with less sensory input.

Cost: The entrance fee for the waterpark is $16.75, which must be paid once you arrive. Remember to bring a form of payment!

Meetup: We will meet directly at Water Mines Waterpark at 10am.

To prepare: Please wear your bathing suit and sandals, and be sure to bring a water bottle, towel, and dry clothes to change into afterwards.

The long-awaited summer concert series is here! Today, we’re getting together at Arrowbrook Centre Park to jam out to Bruce in the USA Band playing a tribute to the legendary Bruce Springsteen.

To prepare: Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets since this is an outdoor event and seating isn’t provided. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks as desired.

Meet up: Although the concert starts at 7:30pm, we recommend getting there early. Anyone who wants to walk over from the Ovation together should meet outside the main lobby by 7pm.

Parking: Guest parking is available on the street as well as in the Ovation garage. Please avoid the parking lot across from the Ovation entrance as you will get towed! For those heading directly to Arrowbrook Centre Park, there is free public parking there.

Twice a month, OSG is hosting a Waypoint Wednesday at…you guessed it…the Waypoint! For this week, join us to play bingo in the community room!

To prepare: You don’t have to bring anything in order to participate!

Meet up: This event will be taking place in the community room on the first floor of the Waypoint. When you arrive, please message the Waypoint Community Whatsapp group to request access to the locked building.

Join our Queens Court community to visit the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington D.C. and explore their diverse collection of plants on display.

Meetup: Our walking group will head out from Queens Court at 10am and take the blue/orange/silver metro line together from the Rosslyn metro station to the Federal Center SW metro station near the museum. If you are going to meet us directly at the museum, then plan to arrive by 11am by the Conservatory entrance on Maryland Avenue. Please note that public parking is limited in downtown DC, so using public transport or ride share is advised.

To prepare: Please review the following information carefully.

  • Attire: Everyone is encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Museum entrance: Entering this museum is free and does not require additional registration after you RSVP with OSG.
  • Public transport: If you’re taking the metro, please remember to bring your SmarTrip Card, or your Metro Access Card and a government id. Alternatively, you can bring cash/debit/credit card and purchase a roundtrip pass.
  • Food/drink: You may want to bring a water bottle and a snack in a closed container.

Every summer, the Columbia Pike Move series offers a free movie under the stars on Friday nights. Tonight, we’re getting together at the Arlington Mill Community Center to watch Top Gun (rated PG)!

Meet up: The movie showing is taking place at the Arlington Mill Community Center. Although the movie starts at 8pm, we recommend arriving early to find seating.

To prepare: There’s nothing you need to bring in order to participate. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks as desired (no alcohol).

Parking: There is free public parking in the Arlington Mill garage.

Join our Arden community for a relaxing evening of crafting, creativity, and connecting with friends!

To prepare: It is advised that you wear clothes you wouldn’t mind possibly getting stained. All supplies will be provided for free to participants, but you are also welcome to bring your own craft projects to work on.

Meet up: Please meet in the third floor club room at the Arden. A key is needed to enter the building, so please message the Arden Community Whatsapp group upon arrival if you’re not an Arden resident, so you can be let in.

The long-awaited summer concert series is here! Today, we’re getting together at Lubber Run Park to enjoy a performance by The Tone Rangers and their special guests, The Chromatics, for “You Get What You Pay For.” Join us for an evening of a cappella and comic wonders under the stars!

Meet up: The concert is taking place at the Lubber Run Park Amphitheater. Although the concert starts at 8:00pm, we’d recommend arriving at Lubber Run Park by at least 7:30pm so we can find seating together.

To prepare: There’s seating provided around the stage, but if you want to sit farther away, you should bring a blanket or lawn chair to use on the grass. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks as needed (no alcohol).

Parking: There is free public parking at Lubber Run Park.

Stop by Gilliam Place and enjoy free art making time with art therapist intern, Sarah. Open studio is a time to interact with art materials and express yourself through creativity.

Meet up: We’ll meet in the first floor community room at Gilliam Place. A key fob is needed to access the building, so please message the OSG Events Whatsapp group upon arrival if you’re not a Gilliam Place resident.

Parking: Free parking is available on Lincoln Street past the round-a-bout. There are also limited free spots available in the Gilliam Place parking garage, but any reserved spots should be avoided because towing is enforced.
