Events Calendar

Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

Step right up to the Fairfax County Carnival, where fun, excitement, and community come together!

Meet up: We will meet near the entrance of the carnival at 11am to enter together. If you arrive later, please message the OSG Events Whatsapp group to find out where we currently are.

To prepare: Although admission to the fair is free, you will need to bring a form of payment if you want to buy tickets for rides or anything to eat or drink. You can learn more about the carnival here.

Parking: Onsite parking costs $10, payable by cash or card.

Join our Arden community for a visit to the National Postal Museum in Washington D.C. All are welcome (no matter where you live)!

Meetup: Our group will head out from the Arden at 10am and take the metro from Huntington Station to Union Station. It’s important to be on time if you want to travel together! If you are going to meet us directly at the museum, then plan to arrive at 11am by the entrance on the corner of First Street and Massachusetts Ave NE. Please note that public parking is limited in downtown DC, so using public transport or ride share is advised.

To prepare: Please review the following information carefully.

-Attire: Everyone is encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.

-Museum entrance: Entering this museum is free and does not require additional registration after you RSVP with OSG.

-Public transport: If you’re taking the metro, please remember to bring your SmarTrip Card, or your Metro Access Card and a government id. Alternatively, you can bring cash/debit/credit card and purchase a roundtrip pass.

-Food/drink: You may want to bring a water bottle and a snack in a closed container.

Whether you love to bedazzle, crochet, or knit, bring your craft project and join us for “Practical Projects”! This event is the perfect opportunity to work on your favorite crafts while learning new skills and sharing tips with fellow enthusiasts.

To prepare: Please bring your craft project, including all supplies you might need. We will have two people who know how to sew present to help you fix buttons, mend holes or give advice on simple sewing, if you’re interested.

Meet up: Please meet in the third floor club room at the Arden. A key is needed to enter the building, so please message the Arden Community Whatsapp group upon arrival if you’re not an Arden resident, so you can be let in.

Join our Ovation community for a casual brunch hangout at Paris Baguette!

To prepare: If you’d like to purchase a drink, sandwich, or pastry, be sure to bring a form of payment. You can view their menu in advance here.

Get ready to make a splash at the Water Mines Family Swimmin’ Hole! Today, OSG will be attending sensory friendly hours to enjoy the waterpark with less sensory input.

Cost: The entrance fee for the waterpark is $16.75, which must be paid once you arrive. Remember to bring a form of payment!

Meetup: We will meet directly at Water Mines Waterpark at 10am.

To prepare: Please wear your bathing suit and sandals, and be sure to bring a water bottle, towel, and dry clothes to change into afterwards.

The long-awaited summer concert series is here! Today, we’re getting together at Arrowbrook Centre Park to jam out to Bruce in the USA Band playing a tribute to the legendary Bruce Springsteen.

To prepare: Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets since this is an outdoor event and seating isn’t provided. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks as desired.

Meet up: Although the concert starts at 7:30pm, we recommend getting there early. Anyone who wants to walk over from the Ovation together should meet outside the main lobby by 7pm.

Parking: Guest parking is available on the street as well as in the Ovation garage. Please avoid the parking lot across from the Ovation entrance as you will get towed! For those heading directly to Arrowbrook Centre Park, there is free public parking there.

Twice a month, OSG is hosting a Waypoint Wednesday at…you guessed it…the Waypoint! For this week, join us to play bingo in the community room!

To prepare: You don’t have to bring anything in order to participate!

Meet up: This event will be taking place in the community room on the first floor of the Waypoint. When you arrive, please message the Waypoint Community Whatsapp group to request access to the locked building.

Join our Queens Court community to visit the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington D.C. and explore their diverse collection of plants on display.

Meetup: Our walking group will head out from Queens Court at 10am and take the blue/orange/silver metro line together from the Rosslyn metro station to the Federal Center SW metro station near the museum. If you are going to meet us directly at the museum, then plan to arrive by 11am by the Conservatory entrance on Maryland Avenue. Please note that public parking is limited in downtown DC, so using public transport or ride share is advised.

Every summer, the Columbia Pike Move series offers a free movie under the stars on Friday nights. Tonight, we’re getting together at the Arlington Mill Community Center to watch Top Gun (rated PG)!

Meet up: The movie showing is taking place at the Arlington Mill Community Center. Although the movie starts at 8pm, we recommend arriving early to find seating.

To prepare: There’s nothing you need to bring in order to participate. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks as desired (no alcohol).

Parking: There is free public parking in the Arlington Mill garage.
