Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

Friends, today we’re going to Kings Dominion and Soak City! This two-in-one park boasts over 60 exciting attractions, including rides, live shows, and a waterpark.

Meet up: Kings Dominion is open from 11am-10pm and Soak City is open from 12pm-7pm. For anyone arriving right at 11am, we can meet at the Front Gate and enter the park together. HERE is a map of the park. If you plan to arrive later in the day, please text the Kings Dominion group chat on Whatsapp to determine where other members of the group are. Attendees are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you’d like at the park.

How to register: There are two steps, so be sure to complete both. Before registering, please be absolutely certain you have transportation both there and back.

  1. RSVP: Be sure to RSVP below so we know that you’re coming. Also be sure to join the Kings Dominion group chat on Whatsapp to stay in touch with the group before and during the event.
  2. Buy your ticket: You’ll need to buy a ticket for each person that is visting the park on July 15th. All tickets include both Kings Dominion and Soak City automatically, so you’ll have access to the amusement park AND water park for the entire day. We recommend making your purchase online and in advance because it’s cheaper than in-person prices at the park gate. HERE is the link to buy your ticket(s) online for about $50. You’ll be emailed a confirmation number which you should bring with you on your cell phone, along with the credit card used to make the purchase, to gain entrance to the park.

To prepare: Please review the following information completely and carefully before July 15th.

Transportation: Everyone is responsible for your own transportation. If you don’t drive, please make arrangements with a family member, friend, or aide who can provide transportation for you. We understand access to transportation can be a barrier for some to participate, so if you’re a driver who’s able to provide a carpool to other OSG Friends, please indicate that when you RSVP.

Disability accommodations: Kings Dominion provides a variety of disability accommodations, and more information can be found HERE .

Weather: There is no rain forecasted yet, but it will be a hot summer day.

Attire: Please dress appropriately for whichever activities you plan to participate in. If you are unsure, HERE are some guidelines.

Food: Outside food and drink are not permitted when entering the park, so you will have to purchase these items inside of the park. Please note that the park doesn’t accept cash.

What to bring: If you need a support person while at the park, please bring a family member, friend, or aide along with you. OSG staff and volunteers are not replacements for your support person. Please consult this list HERE for a few of the essential items to bring with you to the park.

Contact: Questions are best directed to Whatsapp HERE both before and during the event because it is the fastest way to get a response. However, for any sensitive or private inquiries, please contact OSG’s Program and Community Coordinator, Claude.  Her email is claudet@ourstompingground.org.

IMPORTANT: There are limited spots for this event so you MUST RSVP with the total number of people you’re coming with in order to participate.
