Events Calendar
Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

What: Doing Art Together (DARTT) is an inclusive space where participants with DD do arts and crafts together with an enthusiastic team of Arlington high school students.
When: Every Saturday, starting on Feb 4th (skipping February 13th) we will be doing an art project planned by our leadership team.
Where: DARTT will be in a virtual (Zoom) and in-person format on alternating weeks. For in-person sessions, the group will meet at Yorktown High School (5200 Yorktown Blvd, Arlington, VA 22207)
SCHEDULE: 02/04 virtual, 2/11 in-person, 2/18 virtual, 2/25 in-person, 3/4 virtual, 3/11 in-person
Note: All art projects can be done with household items and require minimal art skill. A schedule and supply list will be sent out.
Please RSVP to dartt.arlington@gmail.com. The zoom link will be sent out by the DARTT team on Fridays before the scheduled activity.

What: Join OSG and our Herndon community for a restaurant outing and Quiz night at Ned Devine’s Irish Gastro Pub & Restaurant. All are welcome! Check out the restaurant menu here.
When: We’ll meet at the restaurant at 6:00 PM to order dinner, and then you’re welcome to stick around for Quiz Night that starts at 7:00pm. We’ll form teams of 2-6 people and participate in an hour of trivia!

The art mediums will range from fluid, such as watercolors and paints, to 3D sensory stimulating mediums, such as clay and sculpture materials.
IMPORTANT: Some protective materials and aprons will be available since the art supplies can be messy, but it is advised that you wear clothes you wouldn’t mind getting paint on and could possibly be stained.
*Note: Sign-up is mandatory and spots are limited. We will communicate any changes of plans via email or Whatsapp here.

What: The Northern Virginia Housing & Supportive Services Regional Implementation Team is hosting an Independent Living Meet and Greet for prospective and current residents of The Arden, The Cadence and The Waypoint. The theme of this Meet and Greet is “Tenancy Supports.”
Tenancy supports are services and resources designed to assist individuals with obtaining and maintaining their rental assistance and rental housing. We will have guest speakers from several organizations that will provide different forms of tenancy support to residents at The Arden, The Cadence and The Waypoint.

Please join us on February 2, 2023 at the Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia (the JCC) for the launch of their 10th annual ReelAbilities Film Festival, featuring an art sale and film screening that includes members of the OSG community.
ART SALE OPENS AT 6:00 PM
Original-signed, matted art from 26-year-old Amrit Khurana–an artist from Noida, India who has non-speaking autism. Proceeds from the art sale will support Amrit and OSG.
FILM SCREENING AT 7:00 PM
The Reason I Jump is an immersive cinematic exploration of neurodiversity through the experiences of non-speaking autistic people from around the world. The film features Amrit as well as OSG members Ben McGann and Emma Budway (pictured left), who will host a Q&A discussion following the screening.
