Events Calendar

Our Stomping Ground offers a variety of programs including book clubs, games nights, art and fitness classes and more. We are always adding new events. Be sure to explore our calendar and register for those programs that are of interest. Some events are open to just residents of a specific community, some are open to residents and Friends of OSG, and others are open to anyone in the Northern VA area.

Every third Thursday night of the month, the Gilliam Place community and Our Stomping Ground are gathering together and heading to the restaurant Rincome Thai Cuisine.

Join OSG in a musical event where we’ll play drums and create rhythm together. Participants will get a chance to express themselves by playing a multitude of percussive instruments, while also creating a communal sound. Drum circles are known to relieve stress, create community, and… it’s just fun to hit a drum!

This is an informal gathering and the music is entirely improvised through group listening and interaction. No experience is needed – all are welcome!

DETAILS TO ATTEND:

  •  Please RSVP below.
  • We will meet at Gilliam Place Apartments in the garden
  • Drums and Percussion provided, just bring yourself and some good energy!

Our OSG Queen’s Court community is getting together on the first Wednesday of every month to enjoy dinner together. All are welcome (including those not living at Queens Court), but please RSVP below so that we have a headcount.

For our July outing, we’ll get sushi at Yuraku and meet in the Queens Court lobby at 5:30 PM to walk from there. Please remember to bring a form of payment.

If you have any questions, want to coordinate a carpool, or communicate with the group, please join our WhatsApp group by clicking here.

SPARC is hosting a pancake breakfast to support their mission. They’re a day program that sets the stage for learning skills and habits that improve life for people with disabilities and their families.

To show our support, OSG acquired a few tickets for anyone would like to attend. We’ll enjoy pancake together, play games, bid on special raffle items, enter the pie contest, and enjoy the homemade treats at the bake sale.

Signing up here on our website is free (since OSG already bought the tickets), but space is limited. If our tickets are sold out here, you’re welcome to purchase your own here on SPARC’s website.

By eating delicious pancakes, you’ll be supporting scholarships, our new microgreens curriculum, Zumba, yoga, and therapeutic art and music classes.

Come out for our monthly Healthy Hangout at Lubber Run Park for some fresh air and good company. This is a great opportunity to get outside and connect with your community!

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes while we walk and talk throughout the park and local neighborhood.  After our group walk, you are more than welcome to stay and chat or continue strolling around the park. Can’t wait to see you there!
