Big shout out to Board Member Mike Kepler who was the driving force behind our new partnership with Melwood and their highly successful Car Donation program. We’re excited to announce that our first donated car is currently being processed with proceeds going directly to OSG.
The beauty of this partnership is that anyone can participate from anywhere in the Continental US, so please tell family and friends who may be giving up that old (or not so old) car to think of OSG. This is an “easy lift,” and can really help OSG generate much needed funds.
We’re also delighted to share that Melwood has agreed to fund our proposed research to collect baseline data on adults with Developmental Disabilities. This important study will be accomplished by George Washington University at OSG communities, and will compare results of the OSG model with adults with DD who are not part of an OSG community. We consider this to be an extremely important step considering less than 4% of current research on individuals with DD is focused on adults.
We look forward to watching this very special partnership grow.
